If you have experience selling on eBay and would like to boost your business by selling items on consignment, becoming a registered eBay Trading Assistant would be a good choice for you. There are several guidelines for becoming a Trading Assistant (see Resources). You must live in the United States, your eBay account must have a feedback score of 100 or more that is 98% positive and you must sell an average of 10 items per month. If you meet these requirements, becoming a Trading Assistant can be accomplished in several easy steps.
Click "Sign Up Now." Depending on which type of Trading Assistant you qualify for, it will either be below the "Trading Assistant Requirements" box or the "Registered eBay Drop-Off Location Requirements" box. You will then be taken to an eBay login page. After logging in, eBay will check to see that you meet the requirements. If you meet all the requirements, you will be taken to a page to fill in your business information. Follow the onscreen directions for completing the form and your eBay consignment business will be ready.
Find out which type of Trading Assistant you qualify to be. To be a registered eBay Drop-Off Location, you must have an actual store front and business hours. The regular Trading Assistant program is designed more for consignment sellers operating out of home. Read the Trading Assistant requirements (located about halfway down the page) and the Trading Assistant User Agreement.
Visit eBay's Trading Assistant website (see References). Read about the features and benefits of registering. When you're done reading the page, click on "Trading Assistant Requirements and Signup," located under the green "Quick Links" bar on the left side of the page.
