Press releases are designed to create a buzz about something happening at a company, such as a special project, anniversary of years of service in the community or an award. When writing a press release for your painting company, it is important to keep in mind what local community publications will be determining as newsworthy. Limit the content to the facts, but write it in such a way that you entice the readers into wanting more.
Place "FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE" on the right margin. Make sure this is all capital letters to signify to the reader that this is a press release with time-sensitive information in it.
Place contact information on the top left margin. Each piece of information should have its own line and needs to include contact name, telephone and email information.
Skip a line and place the date of the press release on the left margin.
Place the company logo at the top of the letterhead. Center it in the header so that is is about 1 inch tall and easily deciphered by the reader.
Skip a line and type the location where the news happened. This should include the city and state. This information should be in bold letters and finished with a hyphen.
Skip a line and write the title of the press release in all capital letters under it. If there is a subtitle, hit release and then use upper case for the first letter of every word and lower case for the rest of the word. These two sections should be centered.
