Did you recognize excellent customer service recently? Know of a good company that could use some recognition and good press? Write a recommendation. The good turn you do can be returned to you by this company or by its representatives.
Make an opening statement giving date, name(s)of people, what were you shopping for or interested in, and that you were pleased, in so many words. Make a conclusion expressing your desire to recommend the company to others, and a comment about the rarity of such good service. Let that sit overnight.
As you free-write, plug in the names of helpful people. State what they did well, and what effect it had. Recall what problems they solved. Put these in the form of phrases.
Go back and put in the middle the basic account of your good experience, complete with your "how they helped" phrases mentioned earlier. Include the good words you though of in Step 1, or their synonyms, depending on your style. Proofread, spell-check, and have another person read it for clarity, make any necessary refinements, and you should be there.
Recall the experience with the good company or franchise. What words come to mind when you think of the interaction. Make a list of them. Write down some synonyms next to the words. Then begin to free-write about the experience. Look at other writing-related e-hows referenced on this page to jump start yourself if you get writer's block.
