Are you thought of as the co-worker who seems unprofessional in the things they do, or do want to give a more professional attitude at work. Just follow these few simple rules and you'll be on your way to being a more professional worker.
Keep a constant log of the extra curricular things that you do at work. A simple little journal that jots down date, time, place, and what exactly you were asked to do. This is very important when evaluations come around. Supervisors often want to think of things you have done but can't remember.
Always arrive at work 15 minutes early. Bosses do notice the constant punctualness but might hold off saying anything until its time for evaluations.
Don't lie. Whatever it is don't ever be expected to lie. Your integrity is an essential part of your professionalism. If you can't be trusted your worthless.
Always go to work prepared. If there are tools, equipment, uniforms or anything else you need for work always have two of them. You never know when you'll need another pair or one of your co-workers might need to borrow something.
Always offer to help someone. Even if its someone you don't really care for. People have to know that your dependable and you put petty differences aside for the sake of the business.
Whenever your in a meeting be sure to always put your phone on vibrate, take notes, and ask questions. Just because you might be the only asking the question doesn't mean there aren't several others who are questioning the same thing.
