If you are considering starting your own Public Access show or you already have one, and you are looking for sponsors. This article will show you how to get sponsors for your public access TV show. You are not allowed to advertise on Public Access but you can have sponsors.
*Keep in contact.
If the businesses turn you down at first keep in contact with them. Let them know you are serious and that your show has a following. The more free stuff you give away the larger your audience will grow. This will benefit you and your sponsor. So keep in contact and let them know of current events or new sponsors that have joined.
*Contact the businesses on your list.
From our sponsors we received free movie tickets, free movie and game rentals, and free pizzas. I used pizza to fill up the volunteers and to give away as prizes. We also gave away movie tickets and free movie or video game rentals as prizes. So you do not need money from them to start this relationship. Contact each business on your list and see if they will be willing to trade products or services to sponsor your show.
*Do not abuse your sponsors.
If a pizza place will only let you have four large pizzas a month, then only get four large pizzas a month. If you establish a professional relationship with your sponsor and they start to see results from sponsoring you, they will get more generous.
*Make a list of area businesses.
Make a list of area businesses that what they sell or the service they offer will blend with your show. My little brother and I did a Movie and Video Game Review show for four years. This was only one segment of our show at first, then it became a second stand alone show. We had a Movie Theater, Movie Rental store, and a Pizza place for sponsors.
