Amazon has been around for quite some time now. Due to its increasing popularity I automatically figured that everybody and their momma new how to list on their site. The third step is to price your item. Everybody want to cash out on their item the most they possibly can. But we have to remember that their is a lot of competition out there so our prices got to be competitive. Fortunately Amazon offers you a quick glimpse of what your item is going for through other sellers, whether new or used. Depending on how fast you want to sell your item you can try to be the lowest price offered or you can position your self in middle price range. What I usually do is try to be the third or fourth lowest priced option, that way if the other 3 sell out then I am the lowest price available. After this you are basically done just select continue and it will give you all the information on your listing. Amazon does charge commission for offering your product to such a large market so always check to see if that is something you can live with.
Once you know that your item is good to go, select it from the search result listing. This will take you to the screen in which you choose the condition your item is in. Here honesty is the best policy. Some buyers prefer to hear realistic descriptions of an item so they get a sense of what the item looks like. Your options on this page are like new, very good, good, and acceptable. If your item is rare and considered a collectible their are different option offered for that as well. Right underneath their is section to describe your item. Use short and specific description of the item such as what, if anything, is damaged, missing or otherwise altered from when item was new.
First off, it is always a good idea to make sure the item you are thinking of selling is one that meets Amazons requirements. Common sense will tell you that nothing illegal can be sold or offered on this site. Also certain categories are either not allowed or are regulated with certain requirements that need to be met before permission to sell is obtained. Some of these categories include medical equipment(thank god), clothing and accessories, and firearms. Amazon allows sellers to contact them in reguard to a specific item to see if they can make an exception. Usually if you type in the items information, whether it be the ISBN number or just a keyword, the item should pop up as an option to select. If it does not your item is probably banned from the site or requires special permission.
