Whether you selected a VCT floor for your business for its durability or aesthetics, caring for your floor takes only the same level of work you would expect with any commercial flooring---regular cleaning and preventative maintenance.
Mix 3 to 4 oz. of cleaner per gallon of water and mop the floor. Once finished, lightly rinse-mop the area to remove any cleaner residue. Air-dry.
Wait at least four days to clean and polish and/or seal and polish the floor. Purchase commercial grade cleaning supplies approved for use with Armstrong VCT floors. If uncertain about selecting a particular brand, consider purchasing Armstrong commercial cleaning products made specifically for your VCT floor or call Armstrong (1-877-ARMSTRONG) for a list of recommended products.
Seal your floor, if located in a high soil or stain exposure area, with your commercial-grade sealer following the manufacturer's instructions and warnings.
Clean your VCT floor immediately after installation with a vacuum. Run the vacuum in steady, slow sweeps to prevent scratching the floor's tile surface. If you find any adhesive on the floor, remove by applying mineral spirits to a cloth and dabbing at the adhesive until it pulls away.
Polish the floor with two coats of commercial grade floor polish---again following the instructions for your commercial-grade cleaning product.
