It is important to install security cameras in your business or office, especially if you are dealing with data that needs to be secured and you have to keep a watch on your employees and others who go in and out of your office.
Decide where to install the brackets on which you will position the camera. If the brackets don't come with the camera, purchase them from a hardware store. Be sure the brackets are placed close enough to a power source.
Locate the prime location for installation. Place the camera in a strategic spot, such as near the cash register, server room, main door, back door, stock room, lobby or hallway. The best spots are high-traffic areas or places that give access to sensitive, proprietary information or expensive items.
Set the angle of view. To do this, start at the object or spot you wish to view and walk in a straight line along the angle at which you wish to view it. When you reach a surface where you can mount the camera, look for a convenient spot to put it.
Installation will go smoother and more quickly if someone helps you. One person can check the angle and the view of the room, while the other person can install the cameras.
Follow the instructions in the user's manual that comes with your camera to connect it to a power source and to transmit the signal to a remote viewing device and a to a recording device if desired.
Hold the mounting bracket against the wall or the ceiling. Use a pencil to mark the points on the wall or ceiling where the holes should be. Take the bracket away from the surface, and use a drill to make holes as marked by the pencil. Use a screw driver to screw the bracket into the wall, and then attach the camera.
