Press releases are a form of free advertising for your company or blog. This form of advertising is usually a lot more involved and informative then an ad in the paper or on line because you can tell about your company in great detail.
Body Copy
A typical, well written press releases should be between five and six paragraphs long. Your first paragraph should summarize it, the second should contain the most informative information, the third should contain less informative information, but more informative then the fourth paragraph, so forth and so on.
Try to throw a few quotes here and there (make sure they contain fact) because media outlets love quotes from real people. When writing a PR you need to be exact, try not to use non facts because they do matter when it is published. If you have a fact make sure you can back it up if the time comes.
Next...Location, Location, Location
The next important part is the city of origination, the publisher name, and the date of publication. For example, your intro sentence should look like "City, St (Publisher Name) November, 02, 2009 -- Intro sentence, etc.
About The Company
Underneath your press release you can include one paragraph about your company. This should be simple and short, one or two lines max. Make sure to separate this part from the body copy with bold text.
Where to Begin?!
When writing a press release you need to have a eye catching headline. The headline is basically what it sounds like. Its the entire PR in one sentence. Think of the headline as your attention grabber, with a strong headline you can get people wanting to read the rest. "Blog Gives New Incite Into the World Website Design for Mississippi"would be a great title for a website design blog. The title represents what it will be about and gives just enough information to keep the viewer interested and reading. The font of the headline should be bold and is usually larger then the rest of the page text, but does not need to be. The headline should be present-tense.

Closing Info
Last but not least you should include your media contact information. This information should also be simple and short. When writing a press release I just leave my email, phone, and website address. This is sufficient enough for anyone wanting to contact you regarding your company or services.
At the very end of it make sure you include ### to tell the reader that the press release if complete. This is the standard for articles written by journalists.
