How to Write a Perfect Sales Letter

If you want to start up your own business or earn the big bucks in your bank account, sales is the field that you may want to venture into. As a person coming from a sales background, I can tell you that the initial learning stages of sales can be very challenging. However, if the right methods are applied, I am positive that anyone can excel in sales! These are the methods that I have previously used in my sales career...They worked well for me so I bet they would work well for you too!

Compile testimonies from current and previous customers who have used the product that you will be selling. List down some positive comments of the customers and ask their permission whether you can use their testimonies in your sales letter.

Research on possible competitors of the product that you will be selling. Learn about their strong points and compare them with the unique selling points of the product that you will be selling.

Refer to some sample sales letters. You can get them by purchasing books or searching for them on the internet. If possible, try to get the sales letters of your product competitors.

Learn about the product that you will be selling. Read up about its benefits and unique selling points. If possible, use the product yourself so that it will be easier for you to write your sales letter.

After you completed your sales letter, play around with the page layout. Use similar fonts and font sizes for the body of your sales letters. As for the heading, use a different font and/or bold your fonts. Make sure not to clutter the page. The trick is to lead the eye of the potential customer to focus on the benefits of your product first.

While preparing the sales letter, emphasize on the unique selling points of your product and include good testimonies of your product customers. Try to make your product sound more special and/or better than the product of your product competitors. Write your sales letter in a personal tone - as in by speaking to your potential customers in your letter rather than telling them what to do.
