One item that any serious business-minded individual should have is a business card. When an individual asks for your business information, you won't make a good impression if you take out a pen and paper begin writing. However, if you present your business card instead, it shows that you are a professional who is serious about your business. To create your own cards, all you need is access to a computer and printer, and card stock paper.
Enter all your business information inside the "Address" box located underneath the "Labels" tab. Include information such as business name, your job title, address, phone numbers, Web site and email address.
Click on "Tools" from the menu bar. Select "Letters & Mailings." Choose the "Envelope & Labels" option. If you are using Microsoft 2007, click on "Mailings" from the menu bar and select the "Labels" option.
Load the card stock into the printer and click the "Print" button. You will be able to select the card stock that you are using. Since the "Avery" business cards are listed in the printing options, Microsoft recommends that you use "Avery Business Card Stock," which you can find at your local office supply store.
Open the Microsoft Word program on your computer.
Separate the business cards that are on the sheet by tearing them along the perforations.
