Once you have an EIN (Employer Identification Number) from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the lines of credit that you obtain with that EIN are reported to the four major business credit reporting bureaus, Dun & Bradstreet, Business Credit USA, Experian Business and Equifax Business. It is important to know what is in your business credit report since the information on it can hinder you from obtaining "Trade Credit" from other businesses and financial institutions.
Enter the legal name of your business, as well as the city and state your business is located in. Some sites will also allow you to search by your business EIN.
Click on the option to get a "Business Credit Report."
Click on the "Search" option to yield search results.
Visit the websites for any of four major business credit reporting bureaus. A link for most of these bureaus have been included in the "Resources" section of this article.
Choose the type of credit report you would like to view. The basic report will only show information, such as payment history, liens and bankruptcy. The advanced reports will cost more but they will include more information, such as how the credit bureau rates you, your business's credit score and credit limit recommendations.
Click on the name of your business as it is listed in the search results.
